Outlined below is my remediation policy for the Foundations of Engineering Course. For the most part, I would like to stick to this same policy in this course, and the link below will also be on the resources page. FYI, how I am defining remediation work is any grade that you would like to have changed in the gradebook (whether that is a zero or just a sub-desirable number). For this course, what this means is that if you would like me to change a grade, first FIX WHATEVER YOU NEED TO FIX, then fill out the form below letting me know that you would like me to go back and look at it; with ~30 different active channels it is easy for me to miss noticing that the Gantt chart you added is intended to be a grade change and not just you updating your Gantt chart.
A special note must be made on SMART goals, however: by semester's end we will have dozens of these grades and they are mostly you demonstrating that you care about your grade, taking effort to plan, and this class. You forgetting once won't hurt you, but there really isn't a good reason to regularly not do them, there really isn't an authentic way to retroactively demonstrate the same learning which doing them assesses, and it's not worth my time to go back and constantly be changing individual grades about these. And so, if there is a genuine reason why you would like a SMART goal grade remediated by all means fill out the form and I'm open to this, but otherwise expect that once I put the grade in for it to be final. Foundation of Engineering Remediation Policy There are no permanent zeros in this class: I am fully fine with you making up old missed assignments as my emphasis is just that by the end of the semester you can demonstrate you have learned something and are ready for the next level of the course. However, it gets very difficult for me to keep going back and checking if and when you submitted something in the dozens of different google form or email submission places we will have throughout this semester, and I can promise you just telling me I will forget. So here is my system for staying organized:

Listed below are the deadlines I would like to hit for us in order to get started on a projects. If these deadlines are stressing you out, don't worry, I understand that getting started on a project can be tough. But, with that being said if you do not have what you're wanting to work on/learn in Slack I can promise you that I won't remember what it is you need from me once.
Deadlines for start of year documents
To make sure we're all on the same page I would like to go over my expectations for how projects are started and maintained. Since everyone is doing different things in this course, I expect this course and to be a different for everyone, but there are a few things I need everyone to be on the same page about for my own sanity. Notes on these below!
notes_learningplansganttcharts.pdf Two things on are agenda today: chatting about safety, taking a safety quiz, and then taking a personality quiz. Additionally, for the sprinkle of you all that don't have a portfolio already set up that I have access to I'd like to get that taken care of.
Resources To Do
One of the main takeaways from this semester is to create an online portfolio of your work. Not only is this a meaningful way to record and document your work in this class, but it is a great resource that you can take with you beyond this class in interviews and applications for jobs, colleges and other career opportunities. Ultimately, how much you use your portfolio and how useful it is in your life is up to you, and you can even populate your portfolio with info about yourself beyond just your work in this class (such as with other classes, clubs and jobs), but at the very least I will expect you to have a portfolio (either online or physical) which is cleanly put together, has fully updated documentation of your project work, and that has a purposeful resume. For today, however, I would just make it a goal to do the following:

Resources
To Do Welcome to our Engineering classroom! If you are reading this, you should be enrolled in Engineering Concepts (the second level in the Engineering Pathway). This blog will be used less frequently than in the Foundations level of the class and most class communication will occur on Slack (more on this later), but I will keep still keep this blog updated with info and resources of what we will be doing as well as assignments will be turned in through this blog. Additionally, this class has another page under the "Course Resources" tab where I will put links and other information which will be helpful for you to have access to throughout the semester.
